Observing Plan for 8/4/2014

Objects:
Vega, RA: 18h 36m 56.33s DEC: 38d 47' 01.28"
(Arcturus): RA: 14h 15m 39.7s DEC:+19° 10′ 56″

 Objectives:


  •  Align Polar Scope with RA axis
  • Rough Polar alignment
  • 3 Star Alignment with EQMOD/EQASCOM
  • Pointing Test
  • Visual Star test
  • Digital imaging data for WinRoddier Analysis


 Schedule:

 6-7:30pm: Initial Setup and adjustment of polar alignment scope (1)

7:30-8:30: Polar Alignment (2)

 8:30-9:30: Mount Alignment (3)

 9:30-11:30: Observation (4,5,6)

 11:30: Teardown

 Observation:

  1. After moving to Vega (Arcturus), Center visually and Sync mount
  2. Star Test on 13mm or 6mm eyepiece
  3. Replace Eyepiece with DSI II
  4. Focus DSI II
  5. Move inside of focus 
  6. Take images for 1-5 minutes
  7. move back to focus
  8. move outside of focus
  9. Take images for 1-5 minutes
